Your Carbon Footprint Calculation Report
With the information provided by the Carbon Footprint Calculation, actions can be implemented to reduce your avoidable carbon footprint and save your business money
The Carbon Footprint Calculation includes the calculation of emission data by scope and emission sources. The data can be broken into key indicators such as the emission by full-time employee and or by dollar spend as is relevant to your business.
Your emission is calculated in tCO2e and translated into equivalent numbers for clear communication with your stakeholder community.
Full written carbon report conducted to the principals of the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and in line with the Australian Federal Government’s Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for organisations.
The Carbon Footprint Calculation Approach
What to expect during the Carbon Footprint Calculation process
Collection
Data Collection
To calculate your carbon footprint within your operational boundaries, data is collected in relation to:
Scope 1: All direct greenhouse gas emissions from fuel, gas and refrigerants
Scope 2: Indirect greenhouse gas emissions from consumption of purchased electricity, heat or steam
Scope 3: Indirect emissions from energy losses in extraction, production and transportation of scope 1-2 items to your location(s), business travel, accommodation and food, staff travel to and from work, supply chain expenditures, office paper, water and resources disposed to landfill.
Processing
Data Processing
Transforming client data into emission by tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent Heidi uses emission factors from reputable sources such as but not limited to:
- Australian Department of Environment and Energy
- UK Government Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy
- EPA Victoria
From the time all data is collected the carbon report is commonly completed within 5-10 working days.
Presentation
Presentation of Report
The final carbon report is presented to its key stakeholders. This may include suggestions to workplace and operational actions required to move towards targets and advisory on carbon credits should (information on) carbon offsetting be of interest to the client. Presentation and discussions are also about capturing engagement in areas with a carbon reduction potential while building on present clarity and courage for the client’s sustainability vision and goals.
Recommendations
Recommendations
Presenting a carbon report to a client comes with being able to discuss and make applicable recommendations based on the findings in their carbon report.
Heidi’s experience on the ground and ability to transpose energy and resource consumption to carbon reduction potential are found to provide great value for her clients.
